Circa 1982 Special Run Metropolitan Insurance Companies Group Life / Health Insurance corporate promotional models. The lighted, four wheel driven, traction tire equipped, Yugoslavian manufactured Model Power Alco FA-2 diesel locomotive has an aftermarket (i.e., post Yugoslavian manufacture) custom paint job. Previously factory decorated, the shell appears to have been that was stripped, primed with red primer, spray painted in blue and white, and pad printed with white Metropolitan Insurance Companies logos. While the pad printing job is decent (i.e., as compared to other products of the era), the same can not be said for the paint work, which exhibits some over-spray, soft to fuzzy paint separations between colors, and painted over number board glazing. In C-8 condition, the engine exhibits some minor paint blemishes, which is commonly seen on these relatively scarce models. In C-9 condition, the factory decorated Atlas 40 Foot PS1 Single Sliding Door Boxcar is decorated in silver, with black printing. Individually packaged in clear plastic jewel-boxes with clear plastic cradles and no paper inserts or self-adhesive product description labels, the models are fitted with truck mounted Rapido couplers and nickel silver plated metal wheels. |
